∞ SOLITARY CONFINEMENT OF A DREAM ∞
You spent so many hours on this dream; it took up so much of your time,
Was it that violent of an act that deserved to be judged as a crime?
This dream you only wanted to share and have others join in its euphoric charm,
But somehow the self elected judges of this world, would sound a piercing alarm.
You sat among your piers and had faith that they might all understand,
But in the wink of an eye, you felt isolated in some far off foreign land.
The self elected judges proclaimed a sentence that you could not believe,
The dream was to stay in your mind behind the bars of silence for no one to ever retrieve.
In confinement you watched numerous others from a small hole in your cell,
They all pretended to be happy and in this world were doing so well.
The dream never left you no matter how tested and silent you had to be,
You kept alive with your hopes and imagination of one day setting this dream free.
You were offered an early parole and felt tempted as you grew a little weak,
But the conditions of your release were, on this dream you must give up and never speak.
Oh to set your body free was inviting and had visions that were extremely nice,
But to give up on this dream; there could be no way that it would be worth this price.
Dreams are so very special; even if they are sentenced and limited to us inside,
They bond our souls together and with the voice of our spirit dreams never hide.
An unjust sentence; I know of one that I feel would have more punishment and be far worse,
To be totally void of all visions and dreams would be a sentence of an ultimate curse.
Keep that vigil alive of a silent, precious dream no matter where in this world you might be,
For I also know as I sit here, that the very same dream is shared and alive inside of me.
